It was the perfect prologue at the americastoughestraces Expedition Oregon
That time before it all starts, gear bins loaded and an open window for a little service project for the local orchard, half the teams collected bad apples from the ground and the other half picked boxes of apples for a local women’s shelter.
The prologue was a series of challenges with prizes as follows:
- Cornhole tournament- hot water at TA4/5
- Acro challenge - head start ~15 min
- Apple orienteering - maps 30 min early
- Largest Strawberry challenge- 15 minutes off of sleep card

The winners of the strawberry contest will get 15min off their mandatory sleep card (Team 4). The apple picking contest winners get the maps 30min early (Team 7). The Cornhole winners get hot water in one of the TAs (Team 2). And the Acro contest winners get a 10min head start (Team 16).
Race start has been moved up to 5:30pm. The wind has picked up here in the Gorge and the race logistics team is keeping a close eye on it especially as teams near stage 2 where they are slated to paddle across the Columbia River, collecting CPs along the way. Stay tuned for updates!

After a few very calm days, the wind is starting to pick up which will have an effect on Stage 2 which is why the start got moved to 5:30pm instead of 6:30pm.
